Hello World!!!!!!

What do you get when you combine the following?

The fierce competitive nature of a field hockey midfielder.

The innate desire to perform of an aspiring actress.

And the perceptive ability of a budding psycho analyst.

Me!

Meg Kaplan that is.

You can see my self-portrait above.

Ok, ok. I know I'm late on the whole blog thing, but with graduation, (from Brown University), in sight, I needed a place to record my thoughts.

So a little bit about me.

Born:

Margaret "Meg" Beatrice Kaplan, 1985, in Amherst MA.

My parents:

David Kaplan- Attorney at law, he's cornered the lesbian divorce market.

Note: until my recent relationship with Josh Stern (Senior in International studies, my parents thought I was lesbian.)

That brings me to my mother who I must admit is my best friend in the whooooooollllllleee world.

Janet Rifkin is a dean at the University of Massachusetts and has made me the woman I am today.

She's been through everything with me.

When I was overwieght in high school, she woke up every morning with me and walked three miles.

When I was applying to college, we criss-crossed the country looking at every school in the top 30.

Fortunately I got into Brown.

Early decision.

And every spring break we do something totally fabulous, like a walking tour in Tuscany, cooking school in france or a spa in Napa.

I love her so much.

Oh and BTW, she's about to turn 60.

Happy Birthday mom.

Oh yeah, I should mention my older brothers, Alex and Nick.

Alex is like 10 years older than me, lives in California with his wife Jen, and is a marketing executive.

He's a mogul.

Nick's 3 years older, works in advertising and is the typical middle child.

Brooding and pissed off!

So back to me.

I'm nearing graduation and while I am planning on pursuing my doctorate in psych, I have some things to do.

Josh and I are going to travel this summer.

I am producing, directing and starring in a one-woman play next fall, "Field Hockey Diva."

And my mom and I are going bicycling in Ireland and Scottland.

Well, as I said. I just wanted to get on the blog train.

So bear with me while I get the hang of it.
